As you may be aware, I'm very passionate about promoting engineering as a career for our young people here in Dorset.  KDC Group is part of the regional Technical Skills Development Group which aims to tackle the engineering sector's skills gap and I'm on a steering comittee that aims to equip our school leavers with the skills and knowledge that they'll need to thrive in industry.

With that in mind, I'd like to draw your attention to an event taking place on 22nd November 2018 that will showcase the different entry routes for year 9-13 students into local engineering-focused employers.  Organised by The Grange Sixth Form and kindly hosted by Curtiss-Wright at their facility at Bournemouth Airport, the event will include a tour of the impressive new Curtiss-Wright building as well as showcase a range of local engineering-focused employers including BAE Systems, Aim Altitude and Cobham.

This event promises to be an inspiring and informative evening for students (and their parents) currently in Years 9-13 at any local school.  It promises to be a great opportunity to meet existing apprentices and to talk face to face with employers in the world of engineering. In addition, The Grange Sixth Form will be showcasing their new, one year Engineering course which is geared towards those students wishing to pursue an apprenticeship in Engineering.
